My name is Angie Wilt, and I’m the new Program Coordinator here at the FCLC. I’m so excited to be working with our fantastic staff, students, and tutors, as well as our community partners to further our mission of lifting individuals and our community through literacy!
While I’m new to the Coordinator’s position, I’m not new to the FCLC family. My first exposure to the Literacy Council was as a tutor during the 2015-16 program year. I was gifted with a diverse group of ESL students from all over the globe who opened my eyes to other cultures and the struggles of acclimating to a new way of life and a new language here in the USA. Since then, I’ve tutored other students in ESL and ABE in one-on-one pairs and have had the pleasure of volunteering in other capacities as well. These unique individuals, and my experiences with them, influenced my life in profound ways, and have led me to have a stronger desire to serve this amazing community we live in.
I have lived most of my life in the South Central PA region. Ten years ago, I moved to Chambersburg with my husband, and I have grown to love the Franklin County communities with all of my heart. There is such a rich heritage here, a heritage of service, determination, compassion, and of unity. My vision for the FCLC includes that heritage of service, and as we here at the FCLC reach out to the community to inform, to create relationships with community partners and citizens, and to welcome all who would love to serve and learn, I hope that we can not only lift others through literacy, but lift those who serve with us as they enrich their lives through community service.
I look forward to meeting and working with you in whatever capacity that may be. We cannot do what we do without the support of our fantastic community partners and individuals like you.
